He qualified in 1979 at the Birmingham Medical School and started on the West Midlands rotation as a registrar, specialising in ophthalmology since 1981. In 1991 he was appointed a consultant at the Kettering General Hospital and is now the senior clinician in the eye department and manages the corneal service.

Mr Baranyovits introduced small incision cataract surgery to Northamptonshire and has a special interest in cataract surgery with astigmatism control, clear lens extraction, refractive lens exchange and presbyopia correction with multifocal implants. He also treats glaucoma, corneal disorders, external eye disease including blepharitis and dry eye, facial spasms, blepharospasm and migraine.
